The newly crowned British Under 21 Champion Robert Lambert won the World Under 21 Semi Final in Eskilstuna, Sweden on Saturday night with an almost faultless 14 point score, dropping his only point when he came out in his 3rd ride. The Eskilstuna track had been heavily watered after the watering truck broke down during the grading break and spilled far too much water on the otherwise superbly prepared track.
Lambert won his 4 other rides and has now secured his place in the 3 round World Finals which take place in Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic later this season. Adam Ellis missed out by just 1 point on a run off for the last remaining spot after scoring 9 points and was a frustrating evening for the Swindon youngest as he lost his steel shoe in one of his rides which cost him to drop 2 points after leading his 3rd ride but ending up dropping down to 3rd place.
Josh Bates Semi Final in Italy was rained off on Saturday night and now is being rerun in Sunday afternoon.
