Great Britain Speedway team crowned World Champions

Great Britain Speedway Team delivered a stunning Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations victory, in action packed weekend at The National Speedway Stadium in Manchester.

With skipper Tai Woffinden ruled out of Sunday’s action following a dramatic crash on Day 1, former Young Lion Dan Bewley stepped in as a replacement, joining Skipper Robert Lambert and current British U21 Champion Tom Brennan.

Team GB successfully finished in the top three during the qualifiers, and then safely navigated a run-off with Denmark, to take their place in the final.

In the final itself, Double World Champion Bartosz Zmarzlik took the race win for Poland, but with his teammate Maciej Janowski crashing out at the end of the first lap, Lambert and Bewley took second and third places and a 5-4 heat advantage, to clinch the World title.

All at The Young Lions send their congratulations to everyone associated with The GB Speedway team.
