Euro final for Harrison

Scunthorpe’s Luke Harrison has qualified for his first major European Final at senior level.

Harrison scored a well-earned nine points in the FIM European Under-19 semi-final in Gustrow, Germany on Saturday, which included two race wins.

Harrison, who has previously competed in European Finals at both 125cc and 250cc levels, has had a fantastic season with both Scunthorpe teams in the Championship and NDL, and was part of the European Under-19 Pairs team which achieved a creditable fourth-place finish in Pila, Poland back in June.

He now joins Luke Killeen in the European Under-19 Final which also takes place in Germany, at Herxheim, on October 3, with Ashton Boughen also hoping to be part of the event as he qualified as first reserve from Pila.

Denmark’s Bastian Pedersen won the qualifier in Gustrow with fellow Dane William Drejer also making it alongside Polish pair Oskar Paluch and Kacper Halkiewicz, Adam Bednar from the Czech Republic and Sweden’s Sammy Van-Dyck.

Britain’s other representative in Gustrow, Ben Trigger, had a tough night scoring three points but will gain from some valuable experience.
