British Youth Championship 2022- Round 1

The 2022 British Youth Championship gets underway today at the Kent venue of Iwade after the Kent Royals v Leicester Cubs National League fixture.

The first round will consist of just the two 500cc and 250cc classes with the 125 class to follow later in the season.

The 500cc class involves the Belle Vue Colt Sam McGurk,  Leicester’s Vinnie Foord who is set for a busy afternoon, and two riders who competed in last season’s 250cc championship Max James and Jody Scott.

The two times 250cc British Champion Luke Harrison leads the 250 class but on a track that he is not that familiar with, and will have stiff competition from local 250 riders Sonny Springer, William Cairns, Ashton Vale and Jamie Etherington.

Following round one, The Championship then sees back to back full rounds at Edinburgh and Glasgow in two weeks’ time.

Our thanks to the Kent Royals Promotion for their support of British Youth Speedway and as ever our series sponsors for their backing.

Tapes up for  meeting between the Royals and The Cubs is midday, with the British Youth Round scheduled to start around 2pm.
