13th May 2015
Following on from the very successful first round of the 2015 Mitas British Youth Championship at Scunthorpe last Sunday, all roads lead to the Arlington Stadium Eastbourne this coming Saturday for round two, only six days after round one for a 5pm start time.
Not quite so many entries for this round with 37 riders competing across the four classes in what will still be great afternoon of entertainment as there will be, including the four finals, (one for each class 500cc, 250cc 150cc and 125cc) 41 races spread across the four classes.
Three of the four winners from round one will be competing Jack Parkinson 500cc, Kean Dicken 250cc and Dan Thompson 125cc, with the 150cc winner Joylon West giving this round a miss due to his extensive school work at this time of mocks and exams.
If round one is anything to go by, then it would be impossible to predict any winners, although 250cc Round One Runner up Tom Brennan will be red hot favourite in this class, as Eastbourne is his home track.
In the 500cc Class it will be important for the riders competing for this championship not to let Jack Parkinson build up too much of a lead, after claiming the maximum 18 points at Scunthorpe, so look out for the likes of Jamie Halder and Lewis Whitmore to be extra keen to be standing at the top of the rostrum come the end of the evening.
All in all it is sure to be very exciting with all 37 riders giving it 100% and trying to score enough points in the heats to make the all important final.
Our thanks to the series sponsors and the BSPA for their continued support for British Youth Speedway.
