British Youth Riders had yet another enjoyable evening of demonstration races at the Bob Kilby Memorial Meeting at Swindon this evening in the 250cc class.

Both Tom Brennan and Kyle Bickley were making their 2nd appearances at the Wiltshire venue, after appearing there 3 weeks ago at the Ben Fund meeting, along with the Woodhull Twins Ben and Luke.

If these demo races are anything to go by then it is sure to be an exciting British Championship when it all starts in May, particularly in this 250 class.

Yet again Tom was very impressive and won 3 of the 4 races, this is Tom’s first year in this class, after stepping from the 150s, and is the reigning 150cc British Champion.

The form that Tom has started the season with, there is no reason why he can’t go on and win the 6 round British Championship although there is sure to be a great battle for this title and it is sure Tom will not have it all his own way.

Bickley will also be one of the favourites to challenge Tom for the top prize and tonight Bickley was the only rider who lowered Tom’s colours in heat 3.

Both Woodhull boys were in the mix, and still there is plenty of time to get dialled in before the serious business starts in earnest come May 10th at Scunthorpe for Round 1 of the Mitas British Youth Championship.

We would like to thank the Swindon Promotion and especially the family of the late Malcolm Holloway, for making us all feel so welcome tonight, and supplying trophies and prizes in the memory of the former Swindon and Reading rider who was known as Wellie!

We now look forward to Bomber’s Big Bash on Sunday where we have Both 250s and 125s doing 6 races, we are on before the meeting and 1st race is at 1pm.

Remember the clocks go forward Saturday night, so if you’re off to Coventry Sunday, make sure you get there for 1pm and you will not be disappointed.
