With a busy year set for the Young Lions, we can now confirm that we will be doing demonstration races at 3 big open meetings at the start of the season.
The traditional opening meeting of the season, the Ben Fund Spectacular which is being held at Kings Lynn on the 12th March this year, will see 13 riders, from a mix of the 500cc and 125cc classes riding in 6 races. We would like to thank Mr Paul Ackroyd for arranging these 6 heats for us to compete in, it is a meeting that that always has a big attendance, so we feel privileged to be part of this special occasion.
The next day, Sunday 13th March just down the road at Peterborough there will 6 races involving 13 riders who will take part in Ulrich Ostergaard’s testimonial, and we would like to thank Ulrich for allowing us to ride in this and Peterborough promoter Ged Rathbone for organising it.
Finally, to an exciting fixture on Sunday 20th March at Coventry where it is Chris Harris’ Testimonial. The Young Lions have been given the opportunity to compete in a British Youth v Team Bomber fixture being run over 6 or 9 heats (depending on time available) where it will be 6 riders in each team competing in a team event.
4 riders from each team will be current Youth riders, and the other 2 riders from either team will be riders who have recently ridden in the British Youth championship. We would like to thank Chris Harris for allowing us to ride in his event, and Chris Anderson for arranging the fixture.
We’re all set for a very exciting start to the season!
