16th April 2019
A big week ahead for the British Under 21 Semi Finalists as 2 semi finals take place at the Isle of Wight on Tuesday and Somerset 3 days later on Good Friday.
With only 3 places up for grabs in each Semi Final to qualify for the British Under 21 Final being hosted by Berwick on the 27th of this month, the racing at both Semi Finals is sure to be tense.
With 12 riders competing in each semi final and the 3 qualifiers not being confirmed until the very last heat, there are sure to be some surprises thrown in to the mix.
British Youth Boss Neil Vatcher said, although everyone will have their favourites, for me it is really hard to pick out the 6 riders who are going to join the already 10 seeded riders at Berwick just 8 days after the 2nd Semi Final.
I would expect the riders like Henry Atkins, Ryan Kinsley and Luke Ruddick who all have Championship Team Places in 2019 to be the front runners, although I am sure riders like Jason Edwards, Jordan Jenkins and Joe Lawlor will have something to say about that.
I really hope both clubs get the support that the riders deserve, as it is Easter Holidays, and the weather forecast is looking good.
